Does anyone have one?

Are there any problems with the finish?

I have a SR 1911 full size and love shooting it and I want to get a black Commander model and need some input on the nitride finish

I love it so far. No issues with the finish at all and it seems very reliable right out of the box. I hope to have it back at the range again soon.

I have enjoyed many hours at the range with my SR1911 full size, but always wished they had made it in a blued model. Thanks for all the input, I will be putting one on order this weekend.

I think it would be very hard for anyone to out shoot a quality, modern handgun.  Put any of mine on a rest vs. my hand and the gun wins. Hands down-- :surrender:

 

With that said, one may fit me better than you. Therefor, i may shoot particular gun better. It's no the gun. It's our hands or skills/ability/training. :popcorn:

What's not to like. The finish is great, controls are still stiff, trigger not to bad and will loosen up with some range time. I sure like the sights and grips. I hope to run some rounds thru it tomorrow. It needs to be cleaned and lubed, but looks like a shooter. If it shoots as good as my SR1911 Standard size it will be a keeper.

Somehow, it's really hard to dis a 1911. especially around here.

Trigger was at 8 LBS out of the box. I have it down to 6.5 LBS just by cleaning a lubing. I will try to shoot it tomorrow if the weather is good.

Nice! The more time I spend with mine the closer we get. My fiance is concerned... :shrug:

 

I had the Ruger out last night and I was pleased with how much the trigger has improved in such a short amount of time. I'm not going to lie, when I bought it the trigger was atrocious.
