Dang, that is so very tempting. And at a good price as well.

But too many other things in line for my wish&buy list right now. And too invested in AK mags to start again.

Yeah, that last part is a pitiful excuse. lol

I think it's a valid excuse honestly. Replacement mags for this likely would be expensive and hard to find right?

It's still a great price for what I presume is a great rifle. I'm not crazy about the stock though.

SBR Candidate??   Maybe for some anyway.

And I believe you are right on the mags. I haven't looked, but recall comments like that.

Ehh, I was set on one and talked myself out of it. The inability to swap VZ58 parts to the VZ2008 gave me a headache. Basically everything that is made for the VZ58 will fit on this weapon.....after extensive modification. So...I went with a Saiga instead.

It is a good deal though, if you intended to leave it just as it comes. Edited by KKing

I bought  one  last year for  399$ with 5 mags.  I couldn't  be happier, it runs like a champ and fun to shoot.  I replaced the folding stock with a fixe one, because it is more comfortable to shoot.  Mags are plentifull for around 20$.

I think it compares equally to an AK. I like the ergos on my VZ better,  but like the variety  and price of aftermarket parts on the AK.  The VZ doesn't  have an optics rail. Field stripping are equally  simple.  My VZ is as accurate as my Arsenal SGL-21 AK. I think it was a steal for the price, fit and finish are excellent.  Its hard to go wrong for $379.
