...The 9-year-old boy got a shock Monday from a campaign sign that a neighbor had hooked up to the power source for an electric pet fence.

The neighbor, Shawn Turschak, said he was tired of people stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard, so he rigged two signs as booby traps.

"I was just furious," he said...

There's even surveillance video!

The concept is pretty awesome... but that definitely needs a bigger electrical source, to fully achieve awesomeness. :P

He was holding an obama sign, what more proof would one need to charge his parents for child abuse, neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, reckless endangerment, enslavement.......:D

anyone think a 9 year old is bright enough to decide to swap out a mccain sign for an obama sign on his own ?

Zap the little punk and his dad too! The kid needs to learn to respect private property.

I think it would have been fun to hide in the bushes and shoot him with a pellet gun. That way, no one would know what happened, but the kid would sure learn a lesson.

He should dig a big hole deep enough for a person to fit and cover it with grass leaves etc. so then they would hopefully break a leg when trying to steal his signs

The 9 year old kid's father happens to be a professor at UNC.

So I think we all know where this foolish idea probably originated.

Yeah, Chapel Hill in general tends to be a pretty leftward-leaning community.
