Hi If anyone one knows where I can buy .223 caliber bakelite AK magazines it would be much appreciated. If you have any to sell I would pay shipping cost to have them shipped. Thanks, I Didn't know where else to post this.

What type or style of .223 rifle or carbine requires a Bakelite mags? I've got a Chinese AK in  5.56 x 45mm that I got some mags made by Pro Mag last year that cost less than $20 from Midway .. POL-1 model is the product #...Hope this helps !

The promags will give out under the smallest bit of hard usage. Also promags don't have steel reinforced feed lips or locking lug, first time the weapon takes a solid hit the lug will likely sheer away or get awful close.

Just curious are they for a chicom?

Likely for either a Saiga or Arsenal but I dunno what model the OP has, I myself have an Arsenal SLR106F.

The mags I got are for the Chinese & I don't know what else they fit... I've also got several steel mags (made in China) but don't know where any more can be found @ reasonable $.

Yeah, that's the issue with the Chinese mags, they don't import those anymore so those have become somewhat of a collector item. The thing is it depends on the weapon too. I know that Saiga .223's and Bulgarian SLR's are very similar in design, so much so that with just some slight modifications to the Arsenal mags, they will work in the Saiga. Beryl mags will also work in Arsenal's. That's why I just ordered the Canis mod so that I can have mag compatibility with my AR.

Have any of you guys seen bakelite .223 mags? Not moddified AK74 mags but actual .223/5.56 mags.

with .223 aks the make is important, alot of variation

Polytech mags vs. norinco for example

Full on Bakelite? No. The closest I've seen were the modified AK74 mags by Robinson Arms and they were patterned for Arsenal's if memory serves.
