Anybody eat at Chuy's today...?

Recommended Posts

I made the mistake of parking 12" inside the line today (I was just sitting in truck waiting on wife).   Backed in, facing the morning sun for a bit o warmth.

A lady in a big black car pulls up, looks at me, then pulls in the parking space adjacent to me (and centered perfectly).

I go back to surfing the web on my phone & listening to my mp3 player when "WHAM!!!".   She almost fell out of the car, *SLAMMING* her door against my running board.

I drive a beater, but she put about a !/4" crease in the edge of her door, and took it down to bare metal.

She started to apologize, but I waved her off.... No big deal for me.

About an hour later, she returned.  I moved the truck to give her plenty of room.

And my wife wonders why I don't drive the good car......

And this is why my wife doesn't drive my car out and around. She's terrified about getting it dented. Takes her old Impala out and doesn't worry about it.

We learned the hard way. A good car and parking garages do not go together. Just about ruined her last car parking in her work lot.

At work, we don't have this sort of problem. Anyone caught parking over the lines gets a ticket. 5 tickets over any course of time gets you fired from the company. And they never expire from your record.

So the back-up camera and my mirrors come in quite handy for this. I don't fight the rest of my co-workers for a clost to the door spot either, I prefer parking my truck at the end of the row, where i don't have to back up, i just pull out and leave.

Now out in town or when shopping, I prefer to park away from the rest of the people, I'll be out by myself, only to come out to my truck and theres a couple more vehicles parked around me( empty spaces abound even closer to the door). It never fails.

I'm just glad my i have power fold mirrors. I fold mine in all the time.

THIS X2, my wife gave me hell when I said I was buying a beat up VW beetle to commute in b/c I was sick of paying to repair dents and dings in my BMWs. It's now paid for itself several times over.
