Drop tested my LCP

I was in the store and all of a sudden something fell on the ground. First thought was it was my phone but as I watched it go across the tile, I realized it was my LCP. Nobody saw it and it of coarse, didn't go bang. I must have had part of my shirt tucked inside my holster. I had went to the LCP (from my XDSC9) because of the weight, but I always missed my Blackhawk retention holster. Felt like that XD was "pinned" on. Well after seeing that, I've decided that I'll go back to the XD. I could roll down the side of a mountain and the XD would be on my hip at the bottom. I like the button on the Blackhawk.

Yes, I'd say that was mildly embarrassing and potentially dangerous. But all's well in this case.

Secure carry is a must. I guess that's why we all search so hard for the perfect fit on holsters. lol

If part of your shirt was in the holster, you're honestly lucky you didn't shoot yourself holstering the weapon.  This is a good wake-up call for you and everyone else reading the thread.  ALWAYS be sure your holster is clear of your shirt, coat, cover garment, Twinkies, cupcakes or other obstructions when you holster.  Stray objects such as shirt tails have contributed to plenty negligent discharges while holstering and typically end up with a visit to the ER.

All my carry weapons are secured with a thumb break. I have seen way to many people lose control of their weapons.

A lot of people are shot trying to grab a falling weapon.
