Very Disturbing Video

This officer I believe was ill and on the job.  He did not pat the guy down FIRST.

He paid for it with his life.  RIP sir.

 

Just an example of how a benign conversation can go bad in a split second.

The officers that responded to my house after an incident there did not do a very good pat down either. One day one of these officers are going to pay with their life and it is sad because it doesn't take but a couple of minutes to do a very thorough pat down.

I assume that the officer got killed, and that's a terrible shame.

The video is completely useless as presented IMHO, as it only contains about 0.25 seconds of a fast and blurry incomplete action, not showing any outcome or the resulting follow up, and no introduction or narration to explain the context or broader circumstances of the situation.

If the idea was to warn people or train LEO about the dangers of potentially armed suspects and the importance of proper search and detention, it would have been much more effective to show the entire action and provide an introduction and conclusion with background info for context.

As it is, I felt that I just wasted 13.5 minutes of my life, and I didn't learn anything new.

Either the LEO wasn't on his game or he was poorly trained in lots of areas. The guy's body language keyed me in when he protected his gun side when asked if he had any weapons. Takedown or draw would have been initiated with me at that point. Sad that he lost his life over it, but it was certainly pre-mediated. I hope dude gets a needle in the arm in about 10 years, but more wishful that he's killed while resisting arrest.

 

EDIT: Just saw the Blaze article. Glad he saved the tax payers money.

It seemed to me that he trusted this guy and treated hail more like a regular human that a threat from having an argument with his girlfriend.

Very sad indeed and I hope the pos pays the price for his actions.
