Chris Johnson arrest bogus?

What a shame. That law is screwy and needs to be changed. And to think that this is Florida, that has a reputation of being a very gun friendly state.

I thought printing falls under the newer exception about brief and unintentional showing of a firearm?  Or at least I thought that was the legislative intent, but it may not be enforced that way.

The Florida law is vague...it is left up to a law officer to determine what is "brief"...why should a legal carry be determined in this manner since it is unlikely that an officer of the law is carrying around a Webster's Dictionary in order to clearly understand the word.

When my daughter was on a Trap Shooting team and had practice after school she was given a copy of the Tennessee Code to keep in her shooting bag. That code allowed her gun to be out of sight in her vehicle on school grounds. Her team coach, an ex-police officer, provided her with a copy of the Code because he said that most police officers were not aware of the law. Laws should be clear and those that enforce the laws should be provided with better training and better resources in support of their assignments. Florida hasn't.

“Brief” or “printing” doesn’t seem to have anything to do with it (according to the story). They say he had an unsecured handgun laying out in the open and another in a bag that was open. According to the story; that is illegal in Florida.
