yea, I seriously don't even know who's playing. I honestly don't give a crap about most professional sports any more.

The first strike in '72 shook my faith, and the second one in '81 destroyed it. Never watched an entire game since.

:D

I've honestly never watched a full baseball game in my life. Actually, I can say with 100% accuracy, that I've never watched more than 10 mins of any baseball game, ever. Never interested me in the least. IMO, it ranks up there with watching golf on t.v., in the "why the **** would I want to?" category.

That is definitely the atitude the anti gun people have. Dad worked for the Cincinnati Reds for 40 some years. When we were kids we went to ballgames all the time. I loved it. The strikes pretty much put me off of baseball forever I think. I have been to some games since the last strike. Mostly just because all the guys were going and it was fun to drink beer and hang out. I enjoy baseball but cannot honestly say that I have watched or been to a game since moving here to Tennessee.

As for golf, I will watch some of the Master's. The drama is good when it comes down to the last day and all. Can't say that I watch much golf other than some of the Master's coverage though. Been to a few tournaments when we lived in Fla. It was great for people watching and of course beer drinking :D

Not so.

While I can't stand to watch golf or baseball on t.v., as the excitement level rivals that of watching paint dry, I have no qualms with actually participating in either. I pretty much suck at golf, other than the driving range, and can only hold my own in baseball (or softball rather, as the AF is big on that and doesn't have a baseball team) when there is large amounts of alcohol involved... but playing them is totally different than watching them. It's the social atmosphere that makes them great, IMO.

And anti's don't want anything to do with firearms, no matter what the situation.

I simply don't want to fall asleep in front of the television. :D

This World Series blew, big time. I watched most of all the games and not only was there an overall lack of excitement, there was a lot of sloppy baserunning and fielding. I hate watching that from pro ballplayers. There hasn't been a good, barn-burning Series since '02, so I think we're due for one in the next year or two. None of the last five World Series have gone more than five games.

Come to think of it, most of the MLB playoffs sucked this year except for the ALCS between the Red Sox and Rays. Boston almost pulled off another miracle comeback, but I was glad to see them lose.

I love watching baseball or golf on tv, but I realize I'm in a distinct minority and understand why others don't. It is the nature of those games not to be exciting for tv; they are the complete opposite of football.

All I meant was anti gun people wonder "why would I want to do that?" They don't want to see them, know they exist and certainly not shoot them.

After near 20 years in the golf business I about can't stand it anymore. I do appreciate the level of skill it takes to compete at a tour player level. Baseball/softball ended for me years ago. Too old and too injured to compete any longer. Though little league was a good outlet for it when the boy was of that age.

Beer and sports participation are key!! I could probably go and do either if enough beer was going to be involved.

I simply don't want to fall asleep in front of the television. :D

isn't that what TV sports are for?:love::(

The Masters,Pebble Beach, and The British Open if it is at St. Andrews is about the only golf I'll watch.

My guilty pleasure is tennis. The US open a few months ago was FREAKIN' GREAT! I finally get tennis since I started playing tennis on Wii. I never understood how the game was scored until I played it and could see how it all worked. Now I understand what's going on, and it's a BLAST! It's fast-paced, but can stil be a game that goes on for hours. To me, baseball is just a game that goes on for hours.... that's about it. I will say though, I was at game 7 of the World Series in Miami when the Marlins won, and that was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I wasn't even watching when Craig Counsel crossed home plate.

See... I brought my post back on topic!... sort of!
