Well I guess I have found it is time to do what I probably should
have done back a few weeks ago. That is let folks here know about
health issues I found I have. I went to ER back about 12 days
before Christmas for a UTI (urinary tract infection) during the tests
I found out that I also have type 2 Diabetes.

I also learned I have an Aneurism 8 centimeters in size in my abdomen

that requires surgery.

Before the surgeon would operate she wanted me to consult with a
cardiac doctor to see if my heart would survive the surgery. Went in
on Thursday for stress tests and a battery of other tests. Not good news.
The doctor said I have a couple blockages in my heart according to
the tests.

Monday I go in for an arterialgram and the doctor said that if he can
locate the blockages that he will more than likely install stints at that time
to correct the problem. If the heart fix works I am still facing the Aneurism
surgery as soon as I recover from the heart issue if it is successful.

So that is where my life is right now. Everything in my life has done a
180 in the last month. I have addressed the diabetes and now have it
under control but right now. that   The UTI is gone are to date the only
positives to come out of this.

I don't usually ask for much but if any of ya'll could, a prayer or two
would really be appreciated. I have been a bit overwhelmed with all that
has happened in my life and being able to spend time here since this
happened has been great therapy for me. I could not think of a better
place to be right now than here with friends

You've got our prayers, Doug. And, while I know you've got family local, please let me know if there's anything our community here can do to help.

You are a fighter Doug. You and God will finish this off. I, and all your friends here, will be praying for you.

The arterial blockages are a small thing, well maybe not small. But I have a family member who has had angioplasty and I believe the total is now 6 stints. It may be only 5, but think I'm right on the 6. He has a pacemaker and quite a bit of heart muscle damage. But he just keeps plugging along.

I believe that you can and will as well.

So you take this one hurdle at a time. You've been given 4. Now 2 are gone and you are ready to take on and defeat the remaining 2.

Just as you did the first ones. You are a strong person. I have seen that. Those of us here that have met and talked with you for any length of time know that.

And you know how strong you are. You have proved it throughout your life. This is but another challenge for you.

Remember that, and remember that God is with you. As are we. Edited by hipower

Prayers for you. I know how it feels to get hit with an unexpected diagnosis, and you have been hit by a 350 pound lineman, but hang in there. A good attitude (and some modern medical treatment) will pull you through.

You're one tough dude Bersaguy, i'll be having some good positive thought for you. Doctors can do some pretty amazing things these days, my moms 86 and has had a heart valve replacement and a aortic aneurism repaired and going strong so be confident that they will fix you up. Keep us up to date.
