The French Did it Right

They responded quickly. They brought a significant number of police, military and special units and got the job done. Pretty impressive how they handled that situation. From what I understand there were two different hostage situations and all the bad guys are dead, with limited if any civilian casualties. I realize there is a lot of information yet to be revealed, but it appears they did a heck of job in this terrorist attack.

Too little too late.  They've let this muzzy filth into their country for years.  Let them infiltrate and do what those rats do best.  Now, they have to live with it.  They're worse than the clap, take a shot, it goes away for a time.....then....it's back again.

We haven't seen anything yet.  These sick pukes have only just begun.

Well it was the 1st terrorist attack in the country in 50 years. I think they responded very well. Of course it will not end terrorism. But it reflects a well-trained group of law enforcement from their leadership down to the troops carrying out the response. They assembled an army to respond to the attack and got the situation handled. Great job in my opinion.

I can't substantiate this but it's my belief there will be lots of converts in the coming years.  Not religious converts mind you..."I need an excuse" converts.  Sick people looking for justification to live out their psychopathic fantasies.  They see the trend of goat humpers getting away with it and often little or no punishment.

Now we see people die because they drew a comic strip.  WHAT?  A comic character led to murder?  Well, anyone with an axe to grind can claim the cause of Jihad and kill the object of their disgust.  It wasn't even a particularly disrespectful comic.  Certainly nothing like South Park and others do to Jesus Christ.

I wish I could draw and post it on the world scene.  How about a cross eyed rabbi circumcising mohammed with a butter knife?

I'm usually pretty indifferent.  I don't care about race, creed or color.  I think everyone is equally worthless.  BUT, I give ragheads a gold star.  [preferably a 6 point star with a circle]  They can all fertilize the soil for my part.

The French have been a US ally for a long time.  We would have had a harder time gaining independence if the French did not get into the conflict.  They practically went broke helping us fight the British during the revolutionary war.  They gave us the Statute of Liberty and we helped them in WW1 and WW2.

Reports of 4 hostages dead.  It makes me appreciate our recognized 2nd ammendment rights.  I wish those 4 hostages had the same recognition and some choice in if or how they died today.

It seems like the police did a good job in keeping this ordeal contained to 48hrs.  but....  It would stink to be held hostage and be at the mercy of the terrorist AND the police - both with urgent business - in which you are a number... with a value that is not equal to the big picture.  That's not the fault of police; it is just reality, and it is just one more reason why the right to bear arms is a very, very important, basic human right.

Call me a little skeptical of this statement.

Referenced March 20, 2012 with minimum effort.

Well that is the frist time they did not lay down and sarender

The odds that anyone left in military or even political service in France was there during WWII are astronomically against it.  With that in mind, and based on what I have read of the current generation of France's fighting forces written by members of our own elite forces (Rangers, SEALs, etc), running and surrendering are not in their vocabulary.

I know, the fact that France's political leaders rolled over and played dead for Hitler in WW2 makes for an easy target and a funny joke.  It's also disingenuous to their modern warfighters and, frankly, kind of tired and old.

What we should be throwing jabs about is the fact that France seriously restricts private gun ownership in that country and none of that gun control was worth a hill of beans in these most recent terrorist attacks.  Even the police are given the option to carry or not to carry a sidearm, and many of them reportedly opt not to.  Why in the world?!?

I suspect some officers may change their minds after this.

"I need an excuse" converts.

At first I thought you meant rednecks... I'm like yes officer, here is my hunting license, my duck stamp, and my mooselimb stamp...

I agree about the drawing thing, post it and let's see them try anything here.

I have a close friend that ran some joint training exercises with  some French special forces folks. He said without exception they were among the most elite he'd trained with. He said they just didn't mess around.

I gotta echo the wizened musings of Caster on this one... He is exactly right...

The French are reaping the whirlwind of "political correctness and multi-culturalism" gone amuck... They have disarmed their population and emasculated their police (...one of the original victims was an unarmed policeman...) after putting up with years of muslum hooliganism and encroachment (...remember the traffic jambs in the big cities during prayer time, along the usual evening burning of cars in the big cities throughout France...?)...

There are plenty of places in France where the local governments have effectively ceded their government to these hooligans, and neither the locals nor the police patrol there; while all the time the left wing multi-cultural elites have ignored the problem...

All this trouble has spawned a pretty good right-wing movement in France with folks like Marie LePen pushing back in the French government while the entrenched socialist sons of satan are busy callin LePen and here followers "ultra-nationalists" and right-wing nazis; not unlike what ya see here in the USA with the Dems and the Tea Party...

The French are pushing back; but i think it may be either "too little too late" or a helluva fight to reclaim french society and sovereignty from these pirates and murderers...

Ya have to remember that France has been run by some pretty weak and sorry folks since the great Charles DeGaulle; and that's been 55 or so years ago...

There were, in fact, some brave frenchmen in relatively modern times; the Germans killed a bunch of them in WW1 and the Aryian Supermen killed them in WW2... The Vischy French and the socialist bastards survived of course; and have been running the country since DeGaulle...

The France of today is a far cry from the France of the American Revolution and Napoleon...

I say the Frenchmen better re-arm themselves and retake their country; and they better get rid of these multi-culturalist weaklings and appeasing jackasses in their government in the process...  Only then will the French have an adequate response to the real problem within their own borders and within Europe...

It isn't even limited to their Special Operations units.  When the French committed a combat brigade to Afghanistan in 2009 the only "national caveat" they had was to be given their own battle-space like a US Brigade has to manage.  There was none of the 'can't fight at night' 'won't participate in offensive operations' restrictions more than a few members of ISAF had.

I grow weary of all the "French just roll over" talk. Does no one remember what they did for us in the Revolution? How many of them died in WWI? In WWII, who was it that held off the Germans outside of Dunquerque (sp) so that over 200,000 Brits and Canadians could escape, against near suicidal odds? The French did. Who was it that saved untold numbers of downed allied airmen from the Germans, under threat of torture and death? The French Resistance.

C'mon folks. They've been with us from the beginning, generally willing to go into hell with us, knowing we'd back them up if sh** went sideways.

Their political leaders be d@mned, they are some brave folks, unafraid of getting into the fray. Edited by superduty

France has done a lot for our nation, like was mentioned, they pretty much funded our Revolution. And if I am not mistaken, they have some pretty badass soldiers, and have for a while. They handled this pretty well, and fast. Kudos to them. We here in America would still be worried about the protests and going door to door politely asking if anyone had seen them.

Plus I have to admit Luc Besson really understands action films and is far and away my favorite modern producer/director/writer. I don't think France is that bad.

. . . and THEY (the French population) are responsible for the state of their government and nation.  Just like we're responsible for our mess.

I thought it was cool to see them packing Mini 14s! The French police and the A team are the only folks I've ever seen pull that off.

It's just a good thing they didn't have to use them because everyone but the target would've been hit :)

On a side note, I was scanning through a lot of the pictures from France yesterday and every single one of the cops had their trigger finger perfectly laid on the side of the gun, even the ones that were herding civilians out of the grocery store during the breech.  That shows they train well and stick to it.
