Program of local interest on Netflix

Just finished watching the series "Snake Salvation" on Netflix.  The series centers around two churches, one in LaFollette, TN and one in Middlesboro, KY.  Not saying I believe in what they do, or even support what they do for that matter, just thought that it was neat to see something different that had a local setting.  Check it out if you are so inclined.

Yep, I have heard about those places and I have heard about people getting bit and dying from the bite because they had faith that GOD would protect and heal them. I guess they must not have been real true believers and GOD knew what was really in their hearts....... jmho I don't think it is to smart to tempt GOD and then when something happens and the person dies they say it was GODS will. Sorry but to me that is just another way of committing suicide in which the Bible also says that is the Sin that you cannot be forgiven for. Again,...................... jmho

That's actually not a universal truth depending on your denomination and how you believe. Catholics COG and COC believe that. Others don't. I've also not found anything in the bible to lead me to believe it's the unforgivable sin Edited by dlmeadows

This is not a universal Catholic belief.. At least not anymore. Funeral masses are still said for suicide deaths.

I knew the preacher from LaFollette's dad.  Went hunting with him.  He was a hell raiser at times.  :D  Never met his son though

According to the show the preacher that you speak of, Andrew Hamblin, is estranged from his parents and was raised by his grandparents.

I knew his Dad, David Hamblin, but haven't seen him in over 10 years, maybe longer.  His Dad was a bit older then me.  Dad was friends with their family and we went deer hunting/camping a few times.  David was older then me, so we didn't really run in any of the same circles except for hunting.
