R_Bert's TGO Build

Nice job Robert! I see no reason to sweat any UTG negativity. Admittedly it's not top of the line gear but certain items are more than adequate in my opinion. I have one of their slim UTG Pro ? quad rails designed after the Daniel Defense rail that's narrower than it is wide, it's not currently on anything since I replaced it with a Noveske (Troy) rail but I liked it enough that i'll be putting it on another rifle of mine or using it for a budget build or something along those lines. I guess I took the long way around but my point is that I have used the DD rail that it was modeled after and I honestly can't tell much if any difference at all other than knowing that it's a shade heavier.

 Again, awesome job Robert!

13.4 oz. for the 15" model hand-guard, 9 oz for the Ace hand-guard. Empty, the gun is ~7 lbs. I think it will be about 8.5lbs by the time I put the rings, scope, and rounds in it. (I'll weigh it more accurately when done).  It handles well with the short stock, but is not light (which is fine.. almost no recoil.)

The hand-guard is back on sale for $109

I watched a video on this rail being installed and the guy had to use spacers (looked like metal o-rings) between the barrel nut and the inner barrel piece that the rail screws into. Do you remember if you had to use them or did yours fit right on? Not a big deal if I have to use them, just curious. Looks like a really solid rail once mounted, can't wait to get it.

I used one ring (of four provided). I like the setup, once I got it figured out.  It was not too hard, and there is no issue at all on aligning the gas tube (which passes over the nut, not between notches).

Awesome, thanks. That's what he had to use as well. Can't wait to give it a shot. A year ago, I didn't know how to do anything except clean an AR, I'm now on my 6th build with 4 more complete lowers waiting for rainy days....and money ha ha

I had to use one of the spacers as well on mine. The instructions said it was rare to need them, but that's 3 for 3. Not a biggie anyway, I'd just go ahead and throw one on at first and see if it doesn't work righ off.
