Reminds me of when we had Siberians. Bedtime was a trip. Trying to get a pair out of the bed sometimes was a little bit of a problem.

They considered it their bed.

It wasn't unusual to wake up with a Husky nose in your face, or a set of big paws in your back.

And the male was very protective of my wife. He'd get between us if I even tried to move over to her side of the bed.

Me? Stuck at work, night shift as usual.
Everyone hold their farts, it won't be long now.

Happy New Years all. Today is my dads 89th birthday.

Well a Happy New Year to you all!

And please wish your dad a Happy Birthday for me!

I do envy you still having him around. That is wonderful.

OK, screw it. I'm going to bed.

Took all my meds about an hour ago...and they are really kicking in.

Feel sleepy..dizzy... and screen is getting fuzzy.

Or is that the Nyquiyl  kicking in

Spent with family and friends, good beer, big outdoor fire, food and poker game inside, fire truck siren and train horns for noise when needed. Just got done, heading to bed with the loyal but spoiled rotten dog at my feet.

My wife and I never celebrate NYE. It all goes back to a party we went to 37 years ago and involves a red headed woman wearing a dog collar.

Sorta put us off the whole concept of New Years Eve.

I'm watching the Beatles Hard Days night and drinking whiskey. All's well.

All I'm at liberty to divulge is that things were going along just fine until that guy showed up with a leash.

Thinking about 70 years ago, January 1st. 1945. My dad was hit in the back, left shoulder with a piece of metal he thinks from a German morter explosion behind him, maybe an small mm.artillary round. He was taken off the front, out of the knee deep snow and sub-zero temps in Belgium and sent to an evacuation hospital in France for a few weeks of recovery. No vitals were injured, he made a full recovery and returned to the front and awarded the Purple Heart.

I went to bed about 9 PM with tube on watching reruns of Criminal Minds & Blue Bloods and listening to Kasey bark and raise hell until sometime after 1AM from under the bed. They were shooting off bottle rockets next door and she would bark with each one. Sure was glad when they quit or ran out of them............. :ugh: :ugh:

watched a move, the italian job with my son which was pretty good and the last episode of the walking dead from season 4.  didn't even crack any spirits. in my youth new years eve was a time of creating the biggest, loudest noise possible at the stroke of midnight. so much for youthful exuberance.

I played a NYE party at a country club in Arkansas last night. It was... Fascinating.

Love your avatar man. "The Nature Boy" was my favorite back in the day.

Which version did you watch? Old or new?

And yes, as we get older, the desire to make a lot of noise around midnight seems to lessen. lol

Well since the wife has been getting irate about my top shelf bourbon consumption I chilled out with some Patron. :)

I guess it would have been the new. Had Donald Sutherland and the guy from Lone Survivor. Loaded 3 Minis with gold... a bit on the hokey side but it was entertaining.

If we didn't rattle the windows it was considered a failure.

Yes, the one with Mark Wahlberg. It's actually better in some ways than the older version. The car chase is really interest in the old, if I remember there's some mountain roads in it.

But both are good.
