Music City Bowl 2014

Got to watch the Music City Bowl from the sidelines last night and it was probably one of the coolest things I've ever done...been to a lot of sporting events but this was hands down one of the coolest things I've gotten to do so far. Anybody else get to go?

I listened to it on the radio and was wishing I was there. Would have been a good game to watch. Still can't believe LSU lost.

yea me either...that touchdown that the refs said wasnt a touchdown really screwed us...oh well, its been one of those years for Louisiana football. On to the next season!

The SEC west is turning into mine field...even the weaker teams are now top 10 teams  :ugh: making it out alive is pretty hard these days.

I agree that was a touchdown, but had the play-calling been more efficient/effective LSU would not have been in the tough position of trying a fake FG on 4th down.

Not a Les Miles  fan. But I hope he stays there a long time.

Jury is still out on Les Miles and its been 10 years lol every time he does something amazing he goes and does something really stupid right behind it. I can honestly say he fits the LSU fan base pretty well tho...his personality goes with the state and the environment.

What is you connection with LSU?

I was born in Pineville, LA but most of my family went to LA Tech and LSU including me but I didnt finish school...got bored. Quite a few of my friends and family friends have played for them over the years and went there so I have a bunch of connections in one form or another. I've even had family members who were State Troopers and were responsible for escorting the team and coaches around.

I played for Vandy, not the same thing as LSU. Watching a game from the field is a fun experience. LSU fans were the craziest people that I played in front of by far.

Did you play them in Baton Rouge or Nashville? LP Field was pretty calm yesterday compared to what it gets like in Tiger Stadium. That place gets LOUD.

Both. My first away game As a freshman was at Baton Rouge. Our bus was hit with a beer can and we were bing flipped off by old ladies next to their grand kid on the way in. It was awesome. The way that stadium is shaped makes it extremely loud. I goes up more than it goes out. The fans are also right behind you with just a chain length fence. It is something I will never forget, other than getting our a** kicked it was a lot fun.

Well, GTech over Miss. State was the biggest surprise/disappointment yet for me.  I'm starting to realize SEC teams can not merely show up for these Bowl match-ups. They gotta bring the intensity and strategy to win. And in about every game some lucky breaks or bad calls can affect the momentum.

A band I work with was hired to play at the party after the game for The Notre Dame staff, players, and families at Gaylord Opryland. One of the coaches got up and sang "Turn the Page" with us. Haha.
