Well boys, here we go again, another flight missing. I wish for once they would incorporate, covertly, a sat based gps unit in all of these planes. Why would u NOT want to know where your multimillion Airbus 320 is w over 150 souls on board.....
My prayer list is big tonight....

....... And we had another rig catch on fire under the mccwen overpass.  Looks like an omen to me.....  :hiding:

Stuff happens and as usual, we are slow to adapt and learn.

Don't forget that burning ferry that has over 400 people on it.

Hundreds of desperate passengers are enduring freezing conditions on a stricken ferry that has been burning in the Adriatic Sea for a day.

In the early hours of Monday morning, the Italian Coast Guard announced that 221 people had been rescued from the Norman Atlantic, which had been traveling between the Greek port of Igoumenitsa and the Italian port of Ancona when fire broke out on Sunday morning.

Authorities said 257 remained on board

It's sitting on a runway somewhere. Transponder ripped out. Carpet soaked in blood.
All occupants probably tossed out to sea, that are is the most shark infested waters on earth, they'll never be found.

Patience is the greatest weapon our enemies wield. Sooner or later, the world will see the missing planes again. The success of 9/11 is still fresh on their minds and a jet plane is a helluva guided missile. ....now, with plenty of time to spare, just how much ordnance can be loaded onto one of these planes? OR maybe a black market nuclear weapon? OR a plane filled with traditional explosives and a nice dirty bomb to boot. Dispersion would be WIDE!

Tin foil? Maybe, but no one can deny it lies in the realm of possibility. Can you imagine them sitting on one of these till the next Olympics? How many people could they kill?

I think the last one to go missing is sitting on the ground somewhere but this one sounds like it actually crashed.

At least the families can get closure on this one as I read this morning that bodies were being recovered from the wreck. Still wonder why no distress calls went out before going down?

Bodies and red panels and plane parts, I'd say the conspiracy theorists are hating life today.

To assuage the tinfoil hatters, I opine it was probably due to a new faster acting eBola strain.

Nope. Obama took it out with his economic policies :)

I still don't get WHY a true satellite based gps unit costs less than 100 bucks, works throughout 99% of the globe, 100 bucks a year for the service, but yet Airbus and Boeing won't plant these critters in their product to eliminate this lost jet BS. I mean really??? [emoji90] Edited by Dustbuster

Pretty good conspiracy theory there but these two flights are quite a bit different from each other.

IF flight 370 settled on the water without breaking up, it would have sunk in way deeper waters than flight 8501.
It is rather hard to believe that no debris has surfaced from 370 if indeed it hit water or land.

But you can bet IF your scenario is true and flight 370 does fly again a squadron of fighter jets would take it out in a hurry. Provided BHO is not still in office.

We may never know.

Unless I have missed a report there has not been any debris recovered that would confirm this plane went down.  An emergency exit door, the plane could still fly.  Bodies recovered does not confirm the plane crashed, especially in the condition they were found in tends to indicate otherwise.  I would really like to see recovery of debris such as wings, fuselage etc. confirmed to be part of the missing plane that would support actual crash.  Just something that would negate the possibility of the plane being stored somewhere still capable of being flown.  The thought of there possibly being two delivery systems out there still exists until which time proof exists that either of these planes are out of commission.

The weather in that area is gonna be bad the next couple days so they won't be able to do much.

Washington Post has some info:

technical crews scanned beneath the waves for signs of the Airbus A320-200, which is about 125 feet long and has a wing span of 112 feet. Sonar images appeared to show a shape on the seabed — at a depth of 80 to 100 feet — that could be part of the main wreckage, authorities said.

Radar records, however, suggest that the plane made an “unbelievably” steep climb before it crashed, prompting speculation that the aircraft could have stalled during the ascent, the Reuters news agency reported, citing someone familiar with the initial findings of investigators working to piece together what caused the disaster.

“So far, the numbers taken by the radar are unbelievably high. This rate of climb is very high, too high. It appears to be beyond the performance envelope of the aircraft,” Reuters quoted the person as saying.

Indonesia's search team scoured the sea for more than 48 hours before the first debris was spotted off the island of Borneo after a tip-off from fishermen.

Mid-air explosion unlikely

So far the search team has found nine bodies which appear to be intact.

"The conclusions I have come to so far are that the plane did not blow up mid-air, and it did not suffer an impact when it hit a surface, because if it did so then the bodies would not be intact," Chappy Hakim, a former air force commander, told AFP.

This is the first time I've read that bodies from 370 had been found.

First ones found on Dec 30th, about 30 recovered so far, seems only one has already been released to family.

Latest info says that that route was not licensed to be flown on that day.
