The lost art of "Cut Shells": http://youtu.be/k3M46XVfVOU

Anyone else ever tried this? Looks interesting, I just don't have a single shot or double barrel shotgun right now to try it out myself.

Note to self: go get a double barrel 12g.

I've never done it but I did grab a few extra bulk packs to try out one day. Even have the double barrel, just never sat and did the thing yet.

I remember doing this at the skeet range on Ft Stewart back in the 80's. Had to have been an old timer that showed me.

There should still be a hole in the low house cinder block wall from a #9 shot 12ga.

I haven't tried it yet but did see the video last year. It is brilliant. I just watched how to make wax slugs and am even more impressed. I will try that too and wonder what kind of residue it'll leave in the barrel.

My understanding is the residue is no worse than the shot cup will leave after time. Shouldn't be too hard to get it cleaned out.

No residue at all because it is the shot cup that touches the barrel, not the wax.

I will give that a try. I started buying some cheap bulk stuff after I saw the cut shells but I think I like the wax slugs better.
