Don't know where this Chick-Fil-A is at so must be a "local" thing.  Obey or lose your employee meals.

I agree with the top comment:

Doesn't anyone find it ironic that a Chic-fil-A restaurant would expect its employees to use proper English when their advertising campaigns primarily involve cows terribly misspelling words on billboards?

Maybe it's an age thing, maybe I'm just an old fuddy-duddy. But I agree with that manager.

First, as an employee, you have certain rules of the workplace to obey. You accept a job, you accept those rules.

Secondly, the mutilation of the English language going on today is an atrocity. Speaking clearly, enunciating the full word, and letting ghetto and trash-speak take the place of common language is terrible.

Yes, I'm showing my age. But that's my opinion, and I realize it's not going to change things.

Well I agree with you 1000% but is it the fault of the young people or the fault of their  teachers and parents for allowing this type of talk in their educations both in school and at home?

Guess I am old school also, these are my rules for working here. If you don't like them and can't abide by them, I suggest you consider a career change.

Good question, Doug. For once, lol, I don't have a good answer.

There are so many things wrong with our society and culture, or lack of it, these days; that it is difficult to pin it on any one thing.

Parents today, not all, but some; seem to lack a sense of responsibility and reason. No cares about raising a child to any set of standards as we were taught.

And very little compunction about sending their children off to be raised and controlled by someone they don't know for the greater portion of each day.

Maybe it is not the kids fault at all. The see how the so-called adults live and carry themselves in our daily world.

No sense of value. Morals on the decline. A lifestyle that seems to embrace the "I got mine and I don't care about you" mentality. A seeming lack of respect for self and others.

Any or all of the above. Many more things affecting us all as well.

I guess there is no one answer...well, actually there is one answer. A very simple one. But all too many in this world of today will disagree with my next comment.

On second thought...I'll let you, any of you out there. Tell me. Tell all of us.

What is your answer the question?

Mine is very simple. It is 3 letters. One word. Know it? I bet you do.

Well, this certainly has gone far afield hasn't it?

I don't know what half those words mean, but then again I don't hang around teenagers. It must be a terrible job managing a fast food place. All my guys in kitchens were just middle aged drunks. :)

You're right...100% so. The people need to learn to speak properly.....not some half arsed crap that sounds more stupid than pig Latin. They want better jobs and better pay but can't even carry on a decent conversation without making themselves look like a damn fool.

My wife calls me a fuddy duddy all the time.

I think lots of parents don't talk to their kids enough to have any clue what sort of slang they use. We fuss at our kids pretty regularly for poor pronunciation.
