I don't think American Airlines had to respond after what they did. It was evident the man disapproved of the airlines policy so he should have gotten off the airplane and found another company to do business with. Evidently that was how all the other passengers felt also with their applauds when he departed the plane.................jmho   "Merry Christmas one and ALL"

Just another "I don't like it, so you shouldn't do it/have it/celebrate it." type wanting to change the world to meet his/her own set of rules.

Just like the atheists protesting prayer and references to God. I don't believe in any deity, so you shouldn't observe your own beliefs.

Probably would have been.

I think it makes the main page of every right wing news sight out there.

From experience, there are many things very unsettling at being assumed to participate in a religious celebration, and the judgement received when it's discovered I choose not to.  The guys behavior is inexcusable, though.  Flipping out on people isn't the right answer in a situation like that.

Thanks to all the libtards and douchebags that have misinterpreted our constitution.
We now have to say happy holidays so we don't offend humans that worship monkey crap and chicken bones and the like. It's not cool to be nice anymore unless it's meant to show on Facebook or it alleves one of guilt. Had a woman allege that her neighbor was a pedophile cause he bought her son a bike for Xmas. The woman lived in nasty conditions but knew about grooming a child for exploitation and wanted to have him arrested and sue him. Of course it went nowhere but it shows the mentality of many in our country. The neighbor just wanted to do something nice, no record, just average Joe in a small neighborhood.
I think the airline should have stuck him next to a screaming baby or in between 2 fat guys or someone who has t showered in a year wearing a turban.....
Merry Xmas and happy holidays. Edited by Dustbuster

While I am not religious,  I can be courteous and return the Merry Christmas,  Happy Hanukkah,  or whatever greeting I am presented with.  The way I figure, I am wishing them a happy celebration, no matter what they are celebrating much like happy birthday.  I also don't have any issues allowing, not forcing, moments of silence during events and even at school.  Silence can be used for whatever the person wants, prayers, building a grocery list, or just thinking of the day ahead.

That being said, Merry Christmas for those celebrating it and a Happy New Year for all...unless you dont believe in happiness.
