This was tough....

My wife's grandmother passed peacefully in her sleep early this morning. At the age of 102, it really wasn't a surprise, but she was a big part of our lives.

She lived on a farm all her life, and worked her butt off every day she was able. If you were welcome, there was always a cooked meal on the table. If you weren't; she had a shotgun for that.

She was at church every Sunday morning. She raised kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, a garden, cows, tobacco, and chickens. She could mend blue jeans, or a broken heart.

There are no more like her, and she was the kind of person I aspire to be.

We could use your thoughts and prayers this holiday season.

Thanks for listening.

Absolutely will add you and the family to my prayers, Greg.

I'm sure such a sweet lady as you described will be welcomed with open arms by many in Heaven.

I've always had a very special feeling for grandparents, and I'm sure you do as well.

These wonderful people are the glue that bind families forever.

Thanks for sharing, Greg.

This season, many look forward to watching certain movies, eating good food and opening presents.  While those things are nice, Christians look forward to the coming of Christ; not only in celebrating His birth but also His second coming.  For your dear Grandmother, she waits for that no longer.  Glory!

It is always hard to lose a loved one, especially around the holidays when most look forward to sharing time with their families.  Just remember the things about her that you've shared with us and she will always be with you and your family....
