So I'd have no issues with it.

 

OK, my source was mistaken I guess. He's one that knows "everything about all guns". We were talking about the RIA and Metro Arms I'd bought, and he went on to tell me that about the Para frames.

 

Oh well, not the first time I've been misled and wrong. I'm sure it won't be the last.

Nope Garufa is correct. They are made in Pineville NC. (a little town that Charlotte grew up around) I used to live about 5 min from their place.

Para has been running this promotion for a while now.  Locally in Knoxville, Harvey's Pawn and Loan has been selling them for $399 after rebate for the last couple of months.

I have that 1911 and it is extremely accurate. That is a hell of a price for what you get IMO.

I thought they started in Canada, folded, reorganized and moved production to the U.S.A. I've been wrong before, however.

Para is owned by Freedom and they have or have had manufacturing facilities in Canada but I promise you that pistol is made in NC.

I bought a stainless Expert last Christmas, took it apart and did a full tune-up on it, and it is extremely accurate and brutally reliable.  I'd highly recommend them either as a basic 1911 or as a base for building a custom.  Much better QC on that gun than most of the Springfields I've seen lately.
