Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a teen-ager in connection with the alleged attempted home invasion and burglary that ended Tuesday with the fatal shooting of a suspect.

Police said Wednesday morning that Isai Robert Delcid, 18, was taken into custody late Tuesday night. He has been charged with first-degree burglary, police said.

Investigators have not released the name of Delcid’s alleged accomplice, who was shot and killed by a 14-year-old male who lived at the residence, in the 8600 block of Rolling Fields Road. The shooting scene was in a neighborhood off N.C. 218, in a community that is surrounded by Mint Hill but is unincorporated and thus served by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

I can here some bleeding heart naive liberal saying, he should have complied with the home invaders. Well, maybe this kid knows real well, probably better than most that "complying" will just get you dead. Scum can't be trusted like the one's who murdered the kids dad when he was 8.

Meanwhile, a relative of the 14-year-old shooter said the teen’s father was shot and killed six years ago during a robbery on East Independence Boulevard in Charlotte.

I applaud the kid, I hope he realizes he saved himself and his grandma, and other innocent people and I hope it doesn't bother him too much for killing a piece of human garbage. He did society a service.

I agree with you 1000%. As far as the boy regretting shooting the bad guy, I think by the death of his father by a robber bad guy he might feel more vindicated for his fathers death that bad about shooting the bad guy. At least hope it has not lasting bad feels by the boy. He was protecting his grandmother and himself.................jmho

I feel sorry for the 14 year old that has to live with the fact he had to kill someone. I am also very happy that he protected his grandmother and himself. That is one great kid.

God bless him for taking the appropriate action when he did.

I'm very proud of the kid and wish he could be proud of himself too. What he did is NOT a bad thing at all. In fact, the only way this could have been better is if he'd gotten them both.

Any bets on the perp's family filling a lawsuit against eveyone in sight?

Even though NC is liberalizing, I still don't think they will get far with a lawsuit there. Maybe New England or California.
