M&P guys, check your barrels

I understand that Mr. Costa has a great rep, and he's earned it.

But why in the world would you post a warning about damaged guns and show pictures of targets, not damaged guns?

Possibly because it's a fast-paced class and some of his guys just switch to a back-up gun without waiting around to take pictures?  I don't see that he would have any incentive to fabricate this...

If the barrel face is breaking apart the pictures can be taken at the end of the day. They also had time to take pictures of the targets, why not the barrel at the same time?

The utter lack of mention of this on other (really huge) internet outlets has me quite suspicious as well....

It very well could an issue, but it could also be several other things related to the bullets and not the barrels. Pictures of the barrels would clarify a lot.

Maybe the bearded 'tard had his thumb over the top of the gun like he shoots rifles. How that idiot got a following outside 3-gun circles is a mystery to me.

Well...

Chris Costa spent 7 years in the private sector at Applied Marine Technologies Inc. and Linxx on assignment with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Risk Management Division (RMD). At AMTI and Linxx, Costa specialized in teaching Police Tactical Operations in CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or High Explosive) environments and providing Red Team Vulnerability Assessments on critical infrastructures for the US Government.

Prior to this, Mr. Costa spent 12 years with the United States Coast Guard, conducting counter drug operations and special missions in Europe, the Middle East, and South America with such units as; the International Training Division (ITD), Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, Plankowner of Port Security Unit 302 and the Taclet Law Enforcement Team North.

It bothers you that he has a following and trains all over the U.S.? No, he was never a true doorkicker but he does teach good weapons manipulation.

I mean, I think Lady Gaga is the worst thing to ever happen to music, but it doesn't bother me that she has a following.

Smells like jealousy in here. Edited by KKing

The "bearded 'tard" has more credibility with me than you / your company.

I was promised (repeatedly) one of your Polish Tantal flash hiders over 3 years ago (#KA-1222B) and I still haven't seen it...

Do his little three-gun inspired rifle stance and see how much visibility you have on your left side....then try going up/down a hill using that stance and see how much stability you have trying to follow targets....

I don't doubt the guys creds, he's just using them to pitch some "tactics" that should only be used on a 3-gun course.

Wow... you're really doing your company a lot of favors here by displaying not only ignorance, but whining and arrogance as well....

The Arizona Gun Owners Forum must be full or something.

His job is to sell classroom seats and equipment, not necessarily to provide the most effective real-world tactics. I know many of you all are probably holding your Costa action figure doll at the moment and having a tizzy, all I'm saying is some of the stuff he pitches isn't quite optimum for real-world use. I know many of you would take every word from his mouth as gospel, even if he said the world was flat I would catch grief for disagreeing with Capt Infallible. Not saying the guy doesn't know his stuff, he just has a couple things that he's wrong on.

I don't think anyone is mad you disagree with his way of training, but you're coming across like a whiney little girl throwing a temper tantrum. Edited by KKing

Well, there's about 25 of you folks wanting a KA-1222B for the Tantal, we'll have to make 500 units on a minimum run.........we need to get them done but we're not going to jam up  the production schedule just to get to build $30,000 worth of inventory that we're going to get stuck sitting on, especially in this economy.  Everybody WANTS everything right now but very few of them are legitimate buyers.  Usually we can figure on selling 3-4x as many items as we have people on the waiting list, this is how we help gauge demand for niche items.......right now we've got a hard time getting 1/4 of the people on the waiting list to actually buy what they WANTED.  That's how we got stuck sitting on piles of unneeded inventory this year, by switching around the schedule to take care of people who were humping our leg for particular items.  We got the parts done and those people disappeared into the ether.  We'll get them done, its just not a priority considering how relatively few Tantals are out there.  At the moment we're focusing on getting the 5.45x39 AR magazine into production and can look forward to tying up $100-250k in something that will likely fall flat on its face in this economy as well.

I understand business.

However, then don't make promises you can't, or know, you won't keep.

As to Mr Costa...I'm a trainer (private and .gov) and I disagree with some of the stuff he teaches.  But, for you to call him a "tard" is childish and comes across as so.

Overall, I think he puts out a good product.

That's more than I can say for your company...

No, the problem is that I made a negative comment about the idol of a few folks here and caught the wrath.  Had folks bothered thinking about what having a thumb over the slide on a gun would do to accuracy, it would have been a funny joke, but because the "Bearded One" was in the topic all sensibilities went out the window and the fanboys turned it into a pissing contest in short order.  Could have made a disparaging remark about Jesus Christ himself and caught less grief

I wouldn't recognize Mr. Costa if he walked into my store right now.

I do recognize that you don't know nearly as much as you think you do about how to fight with a rifle, and your attitude isn't exactly conducive to retail sales.

So by my remarks regarding the "Bearded One" you've deduced that I don't know how to fight with a rifle.....OK, that seems logical.  I'm not a retail specialist either, I'm an engineer that spends his time and effort making parts for the most ungrateful and demonized industry on the planet.  What remark or opinion could you possibly have that would make that job any less gratifying?

"Hurrumph, I'm not going to buy your products because you don't share my love for a guy who's classes I'm in no danger of attending"

"Hurrumph, I'm gonna berate you mercilessly on an internet forum because you have no privacy yet I'm an anonymous person behind a keyboard"

"Hurrumph, your argument is invalid because you didn't spend $30k in this ####ty economy so that me an 20 other people with an obscure rifle can put a muzzle device on it but can't afford to cheaply shoot it because the cheap ammo for it got banned by the BATF (BTW, King Armory spent a TON of time and $$$ fighting that on your behalf with ZERO help from you "gunnies" out there but don't bother noticing that since it gets in the way of bashing us)."

"Hurrumph, I'm going to jump on the bashing bandwagon because that's what we do on internet forums, since we're anonymous and have time on our hands"

Did I miss any potential argument points there?

Maybe you should try the knitting equipment business.

The more you post crap like this, the more whiney you appear. You even squeezed in another post since I quoted this one! Wow Edited by KKing
