Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr and Waylon Jennings. I have no idea which one is the collector.

Krostofferson, Cash, Nelson, Bocephus, and Jennings. :) AKA The Highwaymen.

Hank Jr being the collector.

Hank may have been an honorary highway man but yes to the other 4

Wherever they were at I bet it was one heck of a good time!!

I've got a pic somewhere of three of them sitting on chairs next to my pool(well before I owned the house, likely before I was born). It sure looked like it was a good time.

Back when they were all still around I worked at Brentwood Shell as a auto mechanic and during that 11 year there I worked on Waylon's cars and his wife Jessie Colter's cars, Hanks jr's cars as both of them lived in Brentwood at the time. I also worked on Naomi Judds 1954 Cadillac she bought from Conway Twitty before his death and Ronnie Milsap's limo's were all serviced there also and I met him a couple times. I had a great job back then. Got to meet a few of the better songwriters that traded there also.............

Hank was never part of the HIGHWAYMEN. He was part of the OUTLAWS which included the above plus Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, George Jones, and others. Basically a group of country singers that told Nashville to kiss their boots .

So did you spend some time with him recently ??

I love to listen to Willie's songs, I hate to hear Willie sing them.

I am a fan of all five men there, and a fan of a Waylon and Bocephus' sons as well.

I personally think that Shooter is one of the most underrated musicians of the last ten to fifteen years.

I can't say that I've heard that before. That's a pretty cold commentary on Willie. lol

But...we can't all like the same thins or singers I guess.

That is one of my favorite parts of the Outlaw movement, everyone sang everyone else's songs.

I am also a huge fan of Shel Silverstein, John Prine, Bobby Bare, Steve Goodman Jerry Jeff Walker and all of their contemporaries too.

I was raised on DAC, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Priest and CDB. It was a fun time growing up, I wouldn't wish it on anyone else, but it opened a lot of doors for me musically.

I thought it was Prag, Oh Shoot and Bersaguy with a few other retired TGO-ers from the 1970s

With a couple of my friends...it could well be.

But Steelharp could probably come closer to filling that group with buddies of his. Edited by hipower

Trivia: Waylon Jennings gave up his seat on the ill fated flight that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson because Richardson was sick. The day the music died.

I thought he lost a coin toss.

"Bye bye Miss American Pie . . ."

GOD I hate that song.  It's 30 minutes long and the radio stations played it every 15 minutes.  Don McLean's "Vincent" is one of my favorites - "Starry, starry night . . ."

Back to our regularly scheduled programming - "Here's my friend Jim Arness in 'Gunsmoke'.

I like pi.

I miss the old Brentwood. It was a lot more laid back and not so fake.
