Secret Santa Identity

Reveal yourself or not?

My family always kept it a secret and we never told who did what. I've seen several revealed here and was just wondering as to  opinions on it.

Mine did reveal himself on the enclosed card. I didn't have a clue that he was mine until then.

What's your feeling?

Last year I did reveal mine, but I also wrote a letter explaining why I chose what gifts. I did not this year, and I also shipped from a location other than my home.

Maybe I'll see if they like the gifts first! lol

I absolutely loved my gifts from last year.. I was almost in tears  and that`s the truth..Wish I could have thanked that person but he /she knows they did good:)

I do not care either way but maybe its best not to know?

I like the idea of keeping it secret.  Mystery always adds to the interest of it for me.  I will thank them in my post when I receive it and that person will hopefully see it.

To be honest, I don't know if mine showed my name or not.  They were sent direct as a gift so I am not sure what they showed.

That's pretty much the way I felt about it as well. Not a big deal, but noticed and was curious about how others had done.

In any event, another big Thank You to my Secret Santa as well.

I am pretty sure I sent my package anonymous last year, and the package I got last year was also received anonymous. I don't remember if I put my forum name on the package this year or not, but I definitely did not put my real name or address. I haven't received mine this year yet, and actually hope it is anonymous, as I think there's just a little bit more surprise and mystery to it, especially if you get something that is really awesome and you wonder how in the heck or who in the heck did that. Sort of like the little kids wonder how Santa got their fully assembled bicycles down the chimney, or that Red Ryder BB gun hidden behind the desk...

I admitted it on the address label.

Mine was on the comments of the shipping label. Too late to turn back now. Next year we should stipulate before hand how to proceed

Well, I let my identity (let the cat out of the bag) out by accident. My Mother passed away early Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon I had to prepare 4 packages to ship on my way out of town Monday morning. Being pretty scatter brained, I had to sign 3 cards and left one un signed. Well I know for a fact, that my giftee got a 'signed" card, as my brother asked me "don't you ever sign Christmas cards?"...it is what it is. I also think I put my address on the outside of the packages so that they would come back to me if they didn't get delivered. Oh well, if my Secret Santa wants to let me know who He/She is, that's fine. I guess it's their right to do so.

Merry Christmas to all.

As Paul Harvey would....."and that's the rest of the story."
