New to me. Been looking for one for a long time. Unfortunately it was damaged in shipping.

This unfortunately is how...the arsenal repair got knocked loose and the stock is cracked below that...as well as a part on the grip.

Replacement stocks are expensive...mr Brian and I will pull it apart and glue/clamp and pin it together. I wouldn't bother with it except that it's the original matching numbers stock. The magazine is the only mismatched part on the gun.

Once the stock is all good-to-go...., do yourself a favor before shooting it and get this gas system adjustment tool from Black River Gunsmithing.

I wasted a lot of time and ammo back when I got my SVT-40 wondering why it wouldn't cycle.  The gas regulator has to be adjusted and this tool is the only thing in the world that seems to be the correct odd-ball size that the commie system came up with.

Also, most of the gas regulators will have some pitting as the results of corrosive ammo.  If the regulator won't turn easy, drop some Kroil around it and let it soak overnight.

Man... that sucks. Can you file a shipping damage claim?

I've taken pictures and I'm gonna set up an account with the shipper and file a claim and see what happens.

Hopefully the carrier can do something to aid in your disappointment, even if they can't help with the rifle. What an awesome piece of world history you have there!

Thanks.

He could donate it to my gun museum......

You'd like that wouldn't you?

Life Is Good Ramjo!

Great to see that your SVT-40 runs.  Good fortune finding a replacement stock.

Awesome! And you suck. Even more so if that's your back yard. :)

LOL We have a 30 acre farm. I've got 300 yards to stretch out the rifles...if it weren't for the hills there would be more.
