Devil dog concepts side charger

I had to google it but it looks cool enough. What's the advantage of this over a larger aftermarket charging handle?

The fact that the shooter doesn't need to un-shoulder the rifle to operate the charging handle is a bonus.

That makes perfect sense. I'm a noob AR owner so I haven't had to clear a malfunction yet.

After watching the video, I can see a few areas where the DDC is better than the GFG. I think GFG came up with the idea, and DDC improved upon it. Still not sure I like the need to mount it to the rail. I suppose it could be a good trade-off. I do love the idea. The price is a different story.

I thought the DD was neat concept myself with the exception of 2 things, 1. cost and 2. the way it mounts, not sure what a person would do if they wanted to use a rail.  Unlessthere is one out there (rail) that would leave a space where it could be mounted.  Unless a person would have a rail machined to remove the portion that would but up against it and the upper, would like to see what all ya'll think.

Thanks

Pretty cool, but for another 30 bucks you can get a dedicated non-recip side charge upper from Gibbz or Tooth and nail....

At $150, this would be very tempting.

I've got a Gibbz. There's no fa or dust door. The rail space taken by the DD is minimal,1 slot up front. I'm going to try it on a pistol first before I say anything and see how it runs.

The accessories that keep hitting the market amaze me. It is at times hard to believe that the AR is a 55 year old design.

Well you know the styles always loop back around over the years. 20 years from now everyone will be producing mosin accessories..... :pleased:

I opened this thread and read the first post thinking "wow, I'd really like to have one of those." Then I saw the price, and I'll have to stick with getting a side charging upper. It's innovative, I'll give them that

True... I don't care about either one of those, but some folks might.

Mounted up. Little tricky to get set, it's tight and stiff on the noveske forged upper. Def need to work w it, it's sitting on an ar pistol,

I really like it. Lubed it up,
Have run about 300 rnds through it. It's simple to set up. if needed,u can always go back to a Std handle w out having to re tune the whole rifle and re sight the optic....it feels different than a Gibbz side charger, but it works fine once set up properly and broken in. By broken in meaning the charger has been racked 40 or 50 times. I like the idea that it can be moved from ar to ar in minutes....

Thanks for the info it will take me many months to complete the build but most likely will be on the list of parts to get.

It's a good product, you have to break it in after mounting it. After that it charges away!
IMHO it's good if you don't want to buy sc uppers, but want the ability to move it from gun to gun. I think it's worth the money w no buyers remorse.
