Muzzle brake for a .308 Savage Hog Hunter?

It is just threaded 5/8x24 (I think) so any break that threads on to that should work.  I am not a big fan of breaks personally on that short of barrel.  It creates A LOT of noise.  Yes, it will help a little with recoil, but I will take the recoil over the extra noise any day.  If you hunt with it and don't wear hearing protection when hunting, I would not put a break on at any cost.

That's my personal take on it.

The best muzzle break..... A suppressor

But aside from that put a Noveske Pig on it. It will send the noise down range and tame the flash, and a little muzzle control added. Oh, and it'll look retarded on a bolt gun, but thems the breaks Edited by Lumber_Jack

I threaded my barrel and timed the cut to to get the brake to be tight at the correct place

and cut the clamp off mine.

The Big Chubby works well. (GET YALLS MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!!!)

These do work great. One of the best and often cloned designs. I also use ross schuler brakes besides the miculek.

Watching the videos on those is just impressive. The designers bolt action .308 moves like a .22
