104 yards with a target handgun is impressive let alone a duty weapon. Could have been skill, could have been luck; sounds like it may have been both.

I would have liked to hear his recall of events when he was having a beer with his friends.

.137 and .164 !! ??  Sheesh!  I know it can be done with regularity if one is practiced,... but that BC doesn't help out one bit.  :)

So that would indicate it's really not that hard to do.  The bullet doesn't drop but about 6" at 100 yds if you've sighted it to zero at 25 yds, even less if you're using something like +2" at 25 yds as shown in the table.  Still a darn good off-hand shot.

100 yd shots are certainly doable and as in this case needed at times. Not that difficult to hit a man size target. It is something that most don't practice though. Heck the average pistol owner seldom shoots past 7 yds, if at all.

What adds to his appeal is that he made the shot holding the reins to two horses. I dont know if he was actually mounted or not when he made that shot though.
