Hot damn, a pink shotgun finally

Done a lot of pink handguns, but finally get to do a pink shotgun build.  This is going to bring the awesome, just gotta figure out how to not make it look ghey.  Friend's gal wanted a cool shotgun build so he brought me a Mossberg (sans barrel) that had been recently removed from the NFA registry and told me to do whatever I wanted to on this build and just send him a bill.  She like pink guns so this one will be pink and black.

You can get a pink stain to refinish the wood. :up:

Yeah I hate all that bright pink furniture they sell. Try to do something not so gaudy. Pink stain would be cool and unique. And put a stock and that bad boy if you want her to shoot it more than a few times haha.

Yep I don't like pink at all on a gun. Not sure how you can do it with class but surely there is a way. Maybe not anything solid pink. Pink ghost flames?  :rofl:

 

I'm interested to see the build though.

My wife loves all things pink but she's doesn't even do the pink gun thing. She thinks pink on a gun makes it look like a toy. With a young daughter in the home, I think it's pretty solid logic.

faded pink with light black-pepper (think "pink noise" on old tv sets), an subtle "Hello Kitty" somewhere (maybe even zombied or tear-dropped)

 

Lightly laser-carve the Hello Kitty, grey-pepper fill) .

 

Then several coats of clear lacquer (??) like a old custom Chevy, top coat a *very* light coat mist of buffed matte (a slight fog on clear ice effect, over relief?)

 

Anyway, real clear in my mind, just not sure how it works or to describe it.

Pink is getting old..They got pretty purple or lilac now..

 

I can understand the pink for the  cure Susan Komen stuff..but still a pretty ugly thing to me....

I like the highlighting idea using pink flame or using SK's color suggestions for detail.

 

Agree with avoid the pepto-shade of pink - tragic...

 

Pink stain for the furniture, mostly black receiver with colored highlights and the final finish can be to the customer's spec - matte / gloss or somewhere in between.

 

Can't wait to see what you come up with!
