Are Kel-Tecs made here?

I was looking through their web site and ran across the PLR-16.

Why would anyone spend a grand and mess with the ATF on a SBR when they could have this for under $500 delivered?

Anyone here have one?

Do they use AR mags?

Heck, I've got 2 of em. They are a blast to shoot. Put a red dot sight on it and it's good to go, pretty accurate to. If you get one make sure and get the forearm grip thing, that barrel gets pretty warm.

because that is a pistol not a rifle.

Is that not just semantics?

That weapon does not appear to me to be a pistol by design; it appears to be for CQB.

Yeah, it looks like that forward grip would pretty much be required. I already have a holographic sight that would work well on there.

Have you had any reliability issues with yours; FTF FTE, etc?

The only problem I have is feeding them. Dang those things eat everything I throw at them. I don't recommend wolf steel case ammo for them but anything else is fair game. If you get one go out and shoot it just after dark (not late enough to disturbe the folks living around you) and watch the fire ball that comes out of the barrel.:D

That’s good to know. I don’t use Wolf in anything.

Just out of curiosity why do you have two of the same thing? (I’m just wondering if we are going to be seeing one of these in the sale section.)

Long and short is that you can not put a stock on that under current laws, because it is a pistol. East Side has had a couple and they look good. If I had the money and all the other stuff I want already, I'd get one.

You also cannot put a vertical grip on the forearm. It's not semantics calling this a handgun instead of a rifle. The pistol or rifle designation is not determined by what it shoots, it has to do with the construction of the firearm.
