Thanks :-) It's an MA compliant model so no flash hider or grenade launcher attachment, and a fixed stock. I got such a good deal on it I'll still be ahead even after I change the stock and tube later.
Here's a pic I snapped last night:20141204_192402_zpsjwqxwp3o.jpg

I'm waiting to see what you get! :-)

Well, I decided to use some of the bonus for a smaller handgun, so I found a good deal on the a Ruger SR9C with a Crimson Trace flashlight.  So, now I can still look for another handgun and prolong my quest!!!!  Range report coming soon!!!

Finally went to the range and I am very pleased with this handgun.  It is very accurate with lower recoil than I expected.  One of the best features for me is the grip.  I have big hands and that beavertail makes it much easier for me to establish a correct grip quickly.  Now I have to find a good holster for it.  Good time to try an Alien Gear holster now.

Yes they are single actions, but everyone should have one in their collection. They come with a .357 mag cylinder which you can shoot .38 spl and a 9mm cylinder.

Well, I do have a few single action pistols. But the only one that gets taken for a range party is the Ruger New Vaquero in 45acp.

While we're talking about 1911's and ruger's... I picked up a ruger sr1911 not too long ago and absolutely love it! I tend to lean more towards polymer guns myself but for a (semi) inexpensive 1911 it is great. And it's a tack driver to boot!

I purchased an SR9 a few years ago to  play around with a bit and have been totally pleased with it. The SR9c has an even nicer trigger pull but at the time I wanted a full sized variant for my range bag.

Too many guns and not enough money!!!!!!  I have the SR1911 on my wish list as well.

I am really leaning toward a 1911.  I had a Springfield many years ago while I was in the Navy, but it was stolen and I never replaced it.  Might be the right time to replace it with a Springfield Range Officer.

Then get a Springfield 1911. I have a Mil-Spec 1911 that I bought in 2004 and it's a running son of a gun . It is simple , runs any ammo , and made in the USA . No Brazil , no foreign parts. I took out the factory "key lock" safety and replaced it with a regular mainspring housing . That took only 5 minutes. Other than that it is all stock and runs like a champ. I like it so much that I got my teenage son the same one a few months ago. I changed out the same thing like I stated above and it's just like the other . They run like a well oiled sewing machine . Makes you wonder about all the other people who complain about their 1911's not running right and all because these Springfield's I have are fine machines .

  • 1 month later...

Finally used the remainder of my bonus and bought a new CZ 75 P-07 Duty handgun.  I picked it up and had one of those moments where it just felt like a part of my hand!!  I have shot the full size CZ75 several times, but this is my first time to purchase a CZ!!  It has been flawless so far, but I have only shot about 200 rounds through it.
