Anybody know AL nonHCP laws?

I used to frequent this forum before I moved and I figured you guys'd know. I moved to TX from TN 6 months ago, my TN HCP has expired, I am still waiting on my TX CHL. I am taking a plane to Nashville tomorrow, staying in TN for a week, then driving to Alabama for Thanksgiving day, and flying back to TX from AL. I'd like to take my Glock.

Again, currently have NO HCP. Can I legally take my handgun to AL or will the TSA jump on me when I declare the gun in AL? I know I won't be able to carry it, but I'd feel better having it locked in my luggage than 1,000 miles away.

Thanks.

Edit: I plan to hunt in TN, can I transport my rifle to AL? I suck at finding gun laws.

At the least,  transporting firearms as per FOPA regs will certainly cover you anywhere in the SouthEast.

As I guess you know, anyone not prohibited from ownership may now have loaded firearms in their vehicle in TN.

Certainly, no probs in Bama any more than in TN of bringing your TSA compliant-packed firearms for checked luggage on a flight.
