New Taurus Curve

Handsome Rob

Recommended Posts

-> In the spirit of its name, its curved polymer frame housing is designed to tuck up to your body when carried on the right side.

my opinion is they just alienated a good % of shooters with yet another probably unusable RHO gun.

I am happy for them to try something new -- without some new ideas we will never have progress.   Same reason  I like kel tec.   Someone has to do the R&D and the big guys won't -- its too risky to try to sell a new idea when all they want is $$$

Other than that its hard to tell on paper.  It might be comfortable to carry and shoot.  It might suck.  I can't tell by looking at it.  It looks a lot like a standard 380 with a laser added in those pics, in other pics it seems to be nearly square with a very small grip.

Had already read about them...have pondered the matter since and made a personal decision regarding this particular design and pistol. Not no but Heck No! Being somewhat of a family based forum feel free to allow your own substitutive epitaph. ;-)

I don't see it. This is a square blocky design sure, but those were and are blatant attempts at disguising a gun as something else, this just happens to be squarish.

Think about this laying next to an iPhone and how they may print. I saw a picture of it earlier but cannot find it now. This blockish design can easily print like a phone or wallet IMO.

How something prints in a pocket has nothing to do with NFA status though. My little keltec in a desantis pocket holster looks like a wallet too. I still think it's just a blocky pistol and a far cry away from the wallet guns.

The links below have much better pictures of what it really looks like. Has a normal muzzle and clip. It even has headlights.

They must still be using some prototype picures in their adverts as well as some pictures of production guns. Notice some have a traditional muzzle with the barrel slightly recessed while others have that curved barrel that matches the dust cover?

They must have really rushed to get this out, as the marketing materials don't seem to match the product. Gibson does that all the time... make prototypes, advertising pictures and send them around the world, then make a few (sometimes substantial) changes and never update the materials.

I'm not drawn to it but I think I'd have to handle and shoot it before making it a "heck no"

Why do I get the feeling like this should have been about drawing number 2....you know, the one before they drew it up 12 more times and it looks nothing like those pictures?!?

I agree. It could look a lot better but then I consider that maybe the aim is to make it look kind-of bland so it doesn't draw the eye.

Best marketing campaign ever!  Outsourced manufacturing to a Chinese company and got Chinese quality.  Captain WenPen over there forgot to put sights on the gun and they use it as a marketing ploy to say "with no sights, you don't have to worry about getting a bad sight picture!"

This thing is worthy of the Grip Zone stamp!
