Hipsters or not, Im not shaving my beard off. Difference between me and them? I dont give a damn what people think, and Ive got the caluses on my hands to back up the fact that its not about fashion. Why must people ruin everything. Cant they go back to baggy pants and messy hair?

Yeah, I think they're just called Hipsters.

Maybe this is a new subset of Hipster?

They're calling these guys "rugged hipsters"

Show me a timber worker with a brow ring.  ??   :)    yup.

With that said, I have a few friends who probably qualify as hipsters, but I think they are actually what hipsters are trying to be.  More so than anyone else I know, they don't give a dang about what anyone thinks about them.  They wear what they want just because.  Some of them work for folks that you all have and/or would pay good money to go and see - not just stars,... legends, and if you spent time with them, you'd get to know some awesome, strong folks.

Now, my wife bought me a pair of "fitted pants" (I refuse to use the other term).  I have worn them.  They are stylish and worthless.  I can't put a single thing in a pocket on them.  Duluth TC, please.

When Polo and Parachute Pants were in style, I grew up wearing flannel and such.  Still do.

Amen.

Regardless of how you look otherwise, your hands will tell the true story if you actually work with your hands or not.

A beard just validates that fact even more lol

You're a big dude, hipsters are little scrawny guys... Plus it's easy to tell someone who has worked all their life doing that kind of stuff or if they're doing a John Kerry and trying to "get him a huntin' license" kinda thing

Don't let them win.

You'll always be able to tell by a mans hands. Calluses don't come easy. It'll grow and drive the prices of logging jeans, designer flannel and hiking boots up, then it'll eventually die off for the new fad. Those of us who grew up on PBR, wearing flannel, jeans and logging boots will still be around and as unfashionable as ever.

Instead of a half-man/half-woman metrosexual, a double-man lumbersexual.

Ill believe there more than half a man when they wanna come up to my house, throw on some climbing gaffs, climb a 60 or 70 ft oak and take it down from the top down. Then I might believe they are something other than a fashion statment of soft boys playing real men.

Homosexuals?

Thats an insult to homosexuals. Most of them are normal, everyday working men, some of them are feminine but some are just as roughneck and blue collar as the rest of us. Hipsters on the other hand are just a giant collective of douchebags

Yep, fads come and go, some come back around, I will still be here where I am.

Been wearing boots since High school, Tees and jeans in the summer, bibs and flannel in the winter.

Sporting a beard for years, heat with wood for over 20 years.

Fads come and go.
