Dumb and Dumber 2

Took the wife out to dinner this evening, and saw this movie.  I haven't seen a comedy movie in some time, and really wasn't a fan of the first movie.  HOWEVER, this movie is great.  Highly recommend if you enjoy unexpectedly corny stuff.  All I have to say is the catheter moment at the front of the movie and the old woman at the nursing home!  I haven't laughed this hard in a very long time!  There are some bad scenes of just corny laughter.

If you seen it, then you will know about this:

I will not go see it.

I watched the first one and really hated it.  I guess I just can't stand completely stupid humor or completely stupid.

Don't know about Daniels but Carey's mouthing off on politics and gun rights has put him on my sh!t list.
Never cared much for his humor anyway.

I am torn, I loved the first. But I am with you on him and his mouth. I am sure I will watch it at some point. I had really low expectations for it.

Well,... I love slapstick, but couldn't do D&Dr....  If you are like that, Escanaba in Da Moonlight might be middle ground if you can't stand D&Dr-r  and/or Jim Carrey.  It is Daniels... all Daniels - with a great supporting cast and is a far, far cry from Hollywood schtuff.

oh... and it is about the opening of Deer Season.   It is for hunting, what "A Christmas Story" is for Christmas.

I laughed. don't know that I laughed enough to be worth the price of admission, but it has its funny moments.

I'm looking forward to The Interview with Seth Rogen and James Franco.

I'll watch it when it comes out, not paying to go see it.
I like stupid movies just to halfway pay attention and laugh at while cleaning firearms or whatever.

I never was a huge Jim Carey fan but I listened to his interview on Stern a few weeks ago and it sort of changed my mind about him. I am unaware of his political/gun statements though so I won't go digging around.

Is there anything to match the bathroom scene in the first movie?

There wasn't a big scene about the bathroom in the first one. Jeff Daniels destroyed the toilet bowl and couldn't flush it. You might be thinking of the movie Dumb and Dumberer- When Harry met Lloyd. It had a scene where Harry got "s##t" all over the wall and Bob Saget came in and went off. I technically thought that movie was the 2nd one even though Carey and Daniels weren't in it but I guess it was considered a knock off. I liked it too though.

I am thinking of Jeff Daniels fouling up the bathroom in the first movie, Dumb and Dumber, after a healthy dose of laxative.  Cracks me up every time.

Lol. I like that one too. Just watched that scene on Comedy Central. It cracks me up too just after that when Lloyd is on the mini bike laughing like a maniac.

Jim Carrey is entitled to his opinion as a Canadian.

His political views are whatever. I don't go to a movie for an actor's political views as they are all mostly delusional. People that famous and rich have zero clue what the rest of the normal world is like.

That being said, he is still ridiculously hilarious, and with a good script I think he still shines.

I was thinking there had already been a second one. I guess this is a different branch or something.
