Adopt a pet

We (read my wife) adopted a coon hound today. This joker is a big mutha and my other dog doesnt know what to think...gonna be a long week or so getting this turd worked into the family...prayers for me because I may be lacking sleep these next few days...

Congrats and good on you and your wife for giving him a great life.  To be honest, one of the reasons I like this forum so much is that we have such a large, very emphatic, dog loving group.  Once I eventually change jobs to where I don't have to travel for long periods every couple of months, I will be getting another dog.  My parents watch mine now while I am gone, but I don't want to throw another one on them since they also have one of their own and ours are all inside dogs.

Getting two adult dogs to play nice can be a tough row to hoe, particularly if they're both the same sex.  Been there, tried that.

The new dog is still a pup, around a year old and male. The smaller dog on the right is a little over 2 years old and a female. They have both been fixed, but he sure is trying to mount the queen of the house, and she isnt having that at all...lol...

The new dog has a good disposition, he is just big and goofy. I think after a little training and being around an older dog, he will learn the ropes...hopefully...

Dominance thing more than sexual. Female dogs will sometimes mount other dogs too, male or female.
