Im now hooked

Im hooked on black powder and my wife will no longer be happy with me. Today, I went to a local gun club as a guest. They were shooting sharps rifles in 45/70 and flint locks in .45. Needless to say I became an instant fan! The flint lock was sweet. Shot it off hand at 50 yards and hit just right of the bullseye. Not bad for open sights and being the first time i shot the rifle. The older men starting ragging me to shoot the sharps at 200 yards. Open sights but resting. I hit the steel rabbit. Cling! That's a nice sound. Shot it twice more because all the older guys wanted to see me do it. Talk about a man that had a huge smile on his face and that was me. I was very thankful of those guys who let me shoot. I didn't ask. I suppose they saw me drooling as they were setting up. Nice guys for sure! I am going to join the club after the first of the year. And on a side note: my new scope on my .243 Winchester model 70 is now set in. Great day indeed!

Happened to me also the other day. I got to shoot a 1885 high wall in
47/70 GOV'T. I was shooting metal at 200 and got hooked. I'm on the hunt now for
a rifle.
