I've kinda got the M4 thing and varminter thing, now looking to build something inbetween. Incredibly accurate with too much scope, but with mall-ninja slobberability?

I've got the lower completed, a Tactical Innovations with CMMG 2 stage match trigger, magpul ... now looking for an upper.

Suggestions?

A lot of people manufacture AR lowers. I have met you before at Hero Gear and

know you are a serious collector by your post and talking to you. Why did you

pick the Tactical Innovations stripped lower? To me they all look to be the

same. I would just like to hear an opinion from someone not in the business.

I thought they were all pretty much the same, too. And I might be chasing a wild hair.

I built a couple of Spike's lowers for friends recently (which really only seem to differ from standard fair with the oh-so-cool HK pictogram, spider and infidel markings).

Except for the old pre-1970 Sp-1s, ARs are pretty much new ground for me and I'm on a learning curve.

I have a couple of CMMG and a Bushmaster stripped lowers in my safe, which really don't differ any (that I can tell), other than they were on sale.

But those darn guys down at Herogear showed me the Tactical Innovations. It has this adjustible pin in the back of the receiver to take up the slack on the upper, completely replacing the need for an accu-wedge and completely eliminating movement between the two halves. Spike's, CMMG and the rest seem to be going to this tephlon USGI type coating, but Tactical Innovations appears pretty rough and ready parkerizing, which is where most of the uppers available still seem to be, unless you purchase a complete gun. I'm going to paint this one for fits and shiggles, so it looks like a better surface.

I have no experience as to how it's going to turn out, but I thought I would give it the best chance... It seems like it will do a heckuva job.

Hence my question to start this thread. I think we should be here to learn, listen and impart knowledge gained, in that order
