Meet the red headed stepchild

I broke down and stripped my BCGs a few a weeks ago. Most are still too new to have a lot of funk, but my BCM was narrrsty! It never got to a point where I was concerned about failures, I'd guess the bolt itself has had maybe 6-700 through it. That is one benefit to having multiples of the same weapons, none of them ever get too bad since I switch around between a few uppers. Now with a few more ready to go I doubt I'll have to break them down again for a few more years.

I am also coming to really appreciate the Nib and nitrided BCGs. So nice to clean...

I'm considering just cleaning the barrel when I get to around 700 rounds or so, heck I don't know. I don't want to clean any of it period, but I'm not going to enjoy shooting the gun if I can't hit anything because the barrel is so funky Edited by KKing

Be strong man, you're just getting warmed up.

Seriously, I talked with a national match shooter a while back. He decided not to clean his match AR for an entire year. More than 1000 rds down the pipe, no malfunctions, no loss of accuracy.

I'm gonna let it go. If nothing else it's made me realize I might be a neat freak lol. But there's something to be said for running a gun that you can beat like a rented mule
