Beautiful! ...and it uses plentiful, Beretta mags. If it retails in the ~$4-500 range, I'd be happy to try one out.

The Berretta mags are a good idea. The mags are the weak part of my original M1 Carbine.
Their prices are more in line than the other company that is making a copy.

Hopefully they can get the price around there daveW. I really can't see spending more than that when the high point carbine is still so cheap, kel-techs are seeming to be more available, and things like the aero survival rifle or JRC can be had in the price ranges higher.

I'm sure there is a market for people looking to spend modern gun money on a reproduction that looks 90% like the original, but honestly if they want this to be a seller I can't see it being more than that.

Here's a box review by a new owner......not very impressive.  Gee, I'd rather have a rifle with magazines instead of clips.  :-\

I saw one at a gun show. It suffers from the same problem as the .22 version. Namely the rear sight is just a cheap piece of plastic and the appature is too small. On the .22 version these sights are well known for breaking or coming loose. And from what I hear, Citadel's customer service sucks.

I do like the idea of it. If I knew for sure that an original M1 sight would fit, I might consider buying one. But the jury is still out on these things, so I'll wait and see.

I saw enough.  If this thing retails for more than 300.00 I am not interested.  I can always get a working Beretta CX Storm, but hate how it looks and the cost is off putting for me.  Better off getting a Hi Point of which I have had two, but no more of those for me either.  Had the sub 2000 too and didn't like it much.

Friend of mine has one. The wood is really pretty, and the ammo is (today's) inexpensive. He had a few mag related hiccups at first. If you want an M1 feel without ammo availability issues and just to have fun, it's an ok option.
