If the new AW ban works like the old ban then "pre-ban" receivers will be able to have the "evil" features like pistol gips, flash hiders, etc. AR15 receivers are a bargain right now. You can pick up a quality receiver for almost $100 including tax & background check.

Plus the AR15 is a very verstatile machine. You can get .223 in many configurations and you can add 9mm, 22lr, etc uppers as needed.

This is a scary scenario for those of us with a good deal of money tied up in firearms but I can see where it might happen.

We've got a long way to go in this country before they'll be able to pass an AWB without a grandfather clause. The current political climate will not allow it, even with O in the White House and a filibuster-proof supermajority in the Senate.

We've already seen gun control become political poison for most of the country.
