Ouch!  I like them, but not that much.  If they cut the price in half I would consider getting a paratrooper model.

I am hearing rumors that the receivers may be re-welds also.  No confirmation though...

My opinion echos what everyone else is saying.

I would like to have a M1 1945 and a paratrooper.

But its hard to justify, since I could buy 2 AR15's for the price of one M1 carbine.

Plus, the KAR version is appx $800 retail with a Davidson's lifetime warranty.

What would be the purpose of that? If I understand it right, there is no ban on these and they would be worth more as originals which is why they are marked as reproductions on a hidden area of the receiver. In any case, I looked at some original M1s and they are not that much, so at this price I would rather have an original than a repro. On gunbroker an Auto Ordanance repro M1 only goes for $660 so I think they can and should be priced more inline with these.

OUCH!!! Not at this time.

At those prices, likely not ever for me. I had a chance at an Inland for $450 some months ago. Told the guy to come talk to me the next week, but he'd sold it by then. Should have just walked my happy ass over to the ATM

I bought mine when CMP sold a bunch of them. But I think most of us that were buying them were buying because they are a real piece of history that served the military and could have even been used in combat. If I was spending $1100 on a rifle it wouldn’t be a M1 carbine and certainly not a copy.
