Looks like it is coming in close to our friends in the west. Figured I'd start a thread since some parts of the state will likely have damage. I get most of my news from here anyway ha. Maybe we can keep it bumped up near the top so it won't get lost. Stay safe friends.

Just heavy rain so far around Milan and Henderson per my wife at home. She says the road in front of the house was loaded with turkeys, anyone want to elaborate on that.

Same here. I'm in West Knoxville and I don't recall getting this much rain in October. It has been pouring for hours now.

I don't want to hear any more whining about how GA needs to tap the Tennessee River.  They've gotten way more rain than we have over the last couple weeks.

Here's my local long range winter forecast by our local meteorologist...It's quite disturbing... :stunned:

 

The first half of october brought 8 inches of rain to parts of cumberland county and this is usually our driest month! Beginning this summer, every weather pattern we have experienced and i have analyzed and there are many, has indicated a rough winter is coming. Every october that this much rain has fallen, there has been at least 18 inches of snow total and no exceptions to this in the last 60 years. I expect several big snows at least with a winter total of over 18 inches and in this pattern we have had anywhere from 20 to 35 inches for the winter. Heavy snow amounts are already falling over canada all the way to siberia and this lays down a sheet of snowcover that allows bitter cold to flow into the u.s. During the winter. with lots of arctic air we have a great shot at below zero and ice storms will be a big threat to many sections of the country. Bad winters are usually followed by an early spring , a bright note among lots of bad weather. I will update you monthly on the latest patterns i am seeing but it will be very suprising if we dont get the things i have talked about because the statistics have jumped out at me since june and i said "this dont look good".
