Thankfully I'm in Arkansas

Been on the road since Thursday morning taking my mom to visit people in OK, TX, NM and AR. Heading back home in the morning, anyway..

Was looking on the web for a place to go eat tonight...finally decided on The Dixie Cafe (I would recommend it to anyone) after looking at the menu online.

We had already ordered and been there a little when I noticed a small sign on the table that they now serve Bud and Bud Light on draft. (Was not on the menu online, the paper menu or anywhere on the door/window) Now if this was in TN I either have to go back out and lock my pistol in the car or keep sitting there violating the law. But being I was in AR...I just sat there and legally ate my meal with no icident....believe it or not!

It is nice, I was born here in Hot Springs but parents moved when I was less than a year old. As a child we came here all the time to visit my grandfather though.

My grandparents are from Arkansas. They moved back to Manila years back, where they are from.

I agree with you about Dixie Cafe, it was one of my favorites when I lived in Arkansas. If you get to Hot Springs much, you've got to try McClard's BBQ, it's my favorite anywhere.

I'll remember that. I know my dad and mom always loved Stubby's BBQ. As with several places it has moved to Central Ave now from where it was "back in the day".

I spent most of the summer in Hernando, MS. It is great to be able to legally carry in all restaurants. My son used to live in Little Rock, so I noticed the Dixie Cafes, but never did try them. It sounds like my loss. Oh well, maybe I can try one someday.
