Colored PMAGS Going Away

Recommended Posts

At some point ere long,  just like the Model T Ford, you'll be able to get them in any color you want as long as that color is black. :)

So you folks that like to color coordinate might want to stash your favs.

Here's what Justin Beard, Sales Manager for Magpul stated on ARFCOM not too long ago:

"To clarify, sometime before the end of the year we will:
- Discontinue Foliage Green in ALL products.
- Discontinue all non-Black colors (FDE, FOL, ODG) in the MAG570/571 GEN M2 MOE PMAGs. Basically, all of our magazines models will be available in Black only.

However, all those SKUs are still viable and in production at the moment to allow Consumers time to purchase what they need."

So they will still be offering all other mags besides the gen2 MOE in the various colors?

"Basically, all of our magazines models will be available in Black only.", says no to me.

I saw that but just before it listed specifically the gen 2 MOE as the mags to only be available in Black. I wasn't sure how to interrupt him. I wonder why they are dropping the colors. FDE is very very popular and I would veture a guess that they would sell a lot more of them if shops actually carried them. Most shops I've walked into only stock black so folks don't really have the chance unless they order online. I know I would have bought far fewer Black mags had I have had the option. One has to assume that this is a financial decision but I am caught off guard, as popular as FDE is, that there's not enough money in it to be worth carrying on with it. Oh well, my Black pmags feed just as well as my FDE and OD pmags so I'd say I'll live.

My widget factory is discontinuing all models of widgets except one and discounting the price on the "discontinued" models.

Was it a strategic business decision to reduce overhead due to poor sales volume on the other widgets or was it just a brilliant marketing ploy to sell more total widgets? Will I actually discontinue the other widgets or is is just a fire sale of sorts because I overpriced certain models of the widgets and they did not sell well enough and I need to boost sales?
