WalMart Federal 9mm in Aluminum casing!

So I dropped by the West Knoxville Turkey Creek Walmart and saw that they had a crap load of Ammo on the shelves. While looking at the 9mm I noticed that the boxes of Federal were listed for $14.97 and $9.97. Looking closer I noticed that one was brass case and one was aluminum. Considering that I don't reload and don't think there is $5 worth of brass in a box of 50rnds I was happy to pay $9.97, especially when Tula with steel case is $10.97. I do miss the days in 2008 when I was buying brass Federal and Blazer for $8.99/box.

I tried a box of the $9.97 ammo the last time I went to the range - worked fine in my Glock 26.

ATK owns Federal,Speer,CCI Blazer among other ammo, component, reloading equipment and sporting goods companies.  The Federal Aluminum case ammo is the same ammo as the CCI Blazer wtih the exception of the headstamp.  There are also reports that the Federal ammo is boxer primed where as the CCI is berdan primed.  Reguardless it can't or shouldn't be reload due to the stressing of the Aluminum case when fired.

so kaboom's aside... with higher pressures that it brings, does anyone have any issues shooting aluminum 40s&w in a Glock?

I've shot a lot of aluminum .357 mag, same SAAMI pressure standard. Albeit not in a Glock. :)
