we tried Dawn and they did not react to it

 

I used Dawn and it worked well.  Maybe add more Dawn?  I made my mixture pretty soapy.  The soap plugs up their breathing pores and they die usually within a minute or so.  I've been using this for a couple years now.  I must admit to a certain satisfaction in watching their demise.

Well, I made a couple of these traps this past weekend, and I'm sorry to say, I haven't caught a single one yet. I was certain they were coming in thru the attic, so I put one up there. I checked it after a day and a half, and all I had was an ant.

 

I did made an effective bug collector, however. It's the same concept as the 2 liter trap, but instead uses one of the 16oz soda bottles. Cut the top off, flip it over and jam it down into the bottle. Same design as the video, but no light inside. You just walk up to the bug and use the bottle to scoop them up. They fall in and can't get out, and you don't squish them, so no stink. I must have caught 50 of them in a short while. Mostly in the sunroom, where they like to hang out on the windows.

 

It was funny, though. I went to Home Depot to get the LED light, and while I was looking at the lights, a store employee walks a customer right to the LED lights and says"here's what you're looking for". I looked at the guy and said "Stink bug trap?" and he laughed and said yes. The clerk said they had sold a bunch of the lights that day, and someone else told him they were making a trap. So I guess I'm not the only one plagued by these insects.

We are plagued with them where I work and I'll tell you why this is bullshit. They like closed dark areas the most, we find them inside of dark closed boxes nearest the outside doors closest to the woods.
