I almost missed it but got out last night to see Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt.

They answered allot of questions, at least for me.

BTW, his speech was aberrated but was well done.

Wife didn't want to see it, so dropped me off.  Only 3 other people in the whole theater.  It was one of the last showing and actually the only one I was able to make.  Limited release with no real advertising, I almost missed it.

I was almost afraid to open this thread, as I am reading Atlas Shrugged for the first time right now, and I still don't know who John Galt is XD.

Allot of people I know that read the book refuse to watch the movie, they find the book 2 dry.  Maybe the politics went over there heads but either way, be sure to give the movies a try.

My wife read the book and has no idea who John Galt is.  I was getting an idea, but It was not answered for me until the 3rd movie.

Yes, abridged would have been a better choice.  :D  That is also not in my daily language.

That movie will do about as well as the first two if even. I liked the first one, but it kind of bothered me that they had to change the cast up a bit.

Since these movies don't have a high level of violence, death, killing, blood, gore, sex, etc, they won't do well in this country.

That and the critics give them 1 star so the sheep won't watch them and many of the sheep would not understand them.

In general a bad review by a critic to me a probably a good movie.  Unless it is Sharknados.

I enjoyed the first two, and look forward to the third. I also enjoyed the book. To me, the movies do the book justice; more so than most books I've seen converted to movie.

i agree. unlike most movies these stay pretty close to the original content. there were also a few little items included that you wouldn't really pick up on unless you had read the book.

I look forward to finishing the book and then watching the movies. You never know how different they are going to be. Take Jurassic Park, or Forrest Gump for example. Great movies, and great books, but totally different from each other.

edit:I am trying not to read all of the comments to avoid spoilers, but I just glanced up and saw they were pretty true to the book. I can't wait to see them. Edited by spazz023

God, I can't imagine how the politics could possibly be missed in this story. I find it funny though, while I'm reading it I keep thinking to myself "I bet there's a lib out there reading this right now thinking all these idiots are dead on with this redistribution of wealth crap, wondering why the main characters are so greedy."

Went and seen the movie yesterday, it was pretty crappy;  the first & second ones were much better.  The bad production aspects can be overlooked because of the storyline, but when you start giving a bad storyline & bad production, the whole thing just goes down the tube.

Ok, when to see it last night...... UGH! It was awful. I'm a huge Ayn Rand fan and liked the first two moves, but this one ... ouch! The music was terrible, way to much in the way of filler shots, oh man if this was the only movie you'd seen of the group you sure as heck wouldn't want to read the book or see the two earlier ones. The only good point is I thought some of the characters were well cast fitting the personalities from the book, but in general they were bad performances.

It kinda made me want to slip into one of the other theaters when it was over and see a good movie just to try and wash the bad taste out of my mouth.
