Kids being used as anti-gun propaganda

anyone with 1/10 a brain can make statistics favor their cause.

take it point by point:

-a gun does not protect me (opinion, baseless non fact)

- a gun makes me more likely to be murdered?  Possibly true.  After all,  how many of the guns in this country are "owned" (in the possession is 9/10 theory) by teens or young men who are criminals??  They did not say "legally owned" or anything that precludes all the criminal activity.

- more likely to commit suicide?  Only if by gun.  I would bet real $$ the statistics were changed to only include gun-suicides rather than totals.  Having one in the house offers a method and many choose it over taking a bottle of pills or cutting on theyself.  I looked it up, guns sit at 50% of suicides.  How can 50% of all suicides become a 5x multiplier?  Fuzzy math.

- accidental death?  They did not compare it to cars, which are the TOP cause of death in young individuals.  That invalidates their comment 100%.

So of the statements, ONE is possibly true (the second one).

So where did they get it?  They made it up, of course, by doctoring data and filtering the results for an outcome favorable to their stance.

We can do that too.  Derp,  100% of the cases where an intruder was shot and driven off or killed by gun by the intended victims, the victims were gun owners!   And in other news, 99.9973% of mass shooting victims in the USA were unarmed!

Method of suicide is different in relation to sex too. Women do not tend to use guns. They tend to me image conscious even in death so they tend to favor things like poisoning or drug overdose to guns.

I think if the stats for child suicide is checked most of them are caused by bullying by other people their own age and in most of those stats the child ends up hanging them selves or jumping off high buildings and pills that we prescribed for the parents that were in the medicine cabinet in the bath room when they should have been locked up.

They can put stats up on about anything they want but let them post the links that back up the stats and provide proof that it is guns. Of course the Lame Stream Media will broadcast anything negative about a gun and gun owner but they will also go out of their way to do everything possible to avoid saying anything positive about them when they happen..............jmho

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker while we were driving to lunch the other day. He's from New York and is constantly fascinated by anyone who owns firearms. He kept trying to convince me that by having guns in my house, I was astronomically more likely to be shot by one (as if they point at people and fire all on their own). We had fun going in circular arguments until we got to where we were going.

Re: using kids to push anti-gun propaganda, did you guys see this? I feel sorry for that guy. http://www.kaaltv.com/article/stories/S3586421.shtml?cat=10151
